"Lectio Divina" in a Group

GROUP “LECTIO DIVINA” - PRAYING WITH SCRIPTURE
This is how we pray with the Gospel in our parish group. Share with us by praying together with friends or family.

Leader: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
All: And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Reader 1: Read the passage through slowly
Silence…
Reader 2: Read the passage through slowly
In turn, each repeat a word or phrase from the reading which has touched you…
Reader 3: Read the passage through slowly
Make your prayer to God in response to the reading, either out loud or in your heart.
Rest in silence for a while…

*You can include the PREGO reflection here if you like*

Leader: Glory be… or Our Father… (all join in)

Contemplative listening… we listen in silence, without comment
How does the reading connect with what has been happening in your life lately? Is there a challenge or an invitation to you in the reading? What is God saying to you though his Word today?
When everyone who wants to has shared -

Leader: Stay with us, Lord Jesus [as evening falls]:
Be our companion on our way.
In your mercy, inflame our hearts and raise our hope,
so that, in union with our brothers and sisters,
we may recognise you in the scriptures
and in the breaking of bread.
You live and reign with God the Father
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever. Amen.*
